ChBE Announces the New Thomas L. Gossage International Scholarship

The Thomas L. Gossage International Scholarship in Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering is available to an international freshman chemical engineering student, with preference given to a graduate of a non-U.S. high school.  The award will cover up to 50% of tuition, fees, housing, and meals. This could total more than $16,000 for the 2007-2008 school year.  Although the award is not guaranteed beyond the freshmen year, the winner is eligible to apply for the following years (one year at a time). The candidate must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 to be considered for continuing support.

The scholarship was established by Tom Gossage, a generous Georgia Tech alumnus who graduated with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in chemical engineering, while maintaining high grades and playing varsity football. Mr. Gossage is the retired Chairman and CEO of Hercules, Inc. and previously headed international operations for Monsanto, Inc. He has been an outstanding leader in the Georgia Tech community, serving on and leading numerous advisory boards and fundraising committees. He is a resident of Atlanta and takes an interest in meeting the winners of the Scholarship.
