Access/Sign-up for X-Ray and Light Scattering Instruments
Sign Up for Measurement Time If you already have access after following the instructions below, you can use this link to sign up for measurement time.
Obtaining Access to XRD
1. Download Form B from the Office of Radiological Safety (ORS).
2. Complete Form B and have it signed by Dr. Nair (EST 2224).
3. Submit Form B to the ORS. Enroll for, and complete, their Radiation Safety training.
4. We will receive your ORS training certificate and will contact you with the next available training date (see below the current training dates and times). We will inform you of any training cancellation and will accommodate you at the earliest.
5. Please arrive at the location mentioned below on the scheduled date and time. After completing the training, you can use the instrument provided the trainer feels you are capable of operating it safely and correctly. Else, additional training is required. You can discuss your experimental needs/difficulties with us during training or afterwards.
6. At the end of training, you will receive a user name and password to access the sign-up scheduler.
Obtaining Access to Light Scattering 1. Download this Form.
2. Complete the form and submit it to Dr. Nair (EST 2224). Slide it under the door if he is not in.
3. We will contact you soon afterwards with details on the training session. After completing the training, you can use the instrument provided the trainer feels you are capable of operating it safely and correctly. Else, additional training is required. You can discuss your experimental needs/difficulties with us during training or afterwards.
4. At the end of training, you will receive a user name and password to access the sign-up scheduler.
