Specialty separations are the key to process development and profitability for the twenty-first century. Successful separations will foster the high-tech industry needed for improved competitiveness and also yield exciting new products by environmentally benign processes. The SSC trains students and works with industry and government to learn fundamentals of separations science and to apply them to real world applications.

The Specialty Separations Center at Georgia Tech represents a highly interdisciplinary and collaborative effort of engineers and scientists from the School of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering , School of Chemistry & Biochemistry , George W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering , School of Civil & Environmental Engineering , and Georgia Tech Research Institute .
