Each PhD student must take three related courses from outside the School of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering (Cross-listed courses offered by ChBE are allowed) that form a cohesive minor course of study. One class may be at the 4000 level, but at least two must be at a graduate level. The classes are usually chosen in consultation with the student's faculty advisor and must be approved by the Associate Chair for Graduate Studies before they are taken.
