Benjamin Galfond
Dr. Galfond's research focuses on the design of laboratory courses and how alternative grading methods can improve student outcomes. Previously, he has researched the application of both stable isotopes and radionuclides as environmental tracers in scenarios such as carbon sequestration, enhanced oil recovery, and aerosol deposition.
Dr. Galfond's teaching interests encompass core undergraduate chemical engineering principles. The technical courses he teaches include Fluid Mechanics, Process Safety, Unit Operations, and Process Control Lab. His instructional approach integrates theoretical concepts with practical applications, aiming to develop students' analytical and critical thinking skills. Dr. Galfond is committed to engaging students through active learning and fostering experiential learning opportunities across the chemical engineering curricula.
