Georgia Tech’s School of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering is the 6^th best chemical engineering department in the world, according to the Shanghai Ranking Consultancy’s Academic Ranking of World Universities, which ranks institutions from around the world in a variety of disciplines.

"We find it encouraging to see the international recognition that our program is receiving," says School Chair David Sholl.

Shanghai Ranking Consultancy has issued academic rankings annually since 2003. Georgia Tech's ChBE has risen four spots over 2016, when it was 10th.

The top 5 in chemical engineering are Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stanford University, Tianjin, Zhejiang, and University of Texas-Austin.
