Shanghai Ranking Consultancy has issued academic rankings annually since 2003.

Georgia Tech’s School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering (ChBE) is the 6th best chemical engineering department in the world, according to the Shanghai Ranking Consultancy’s Academic Ranking of World Universities, which ranks institutions from around the world in a variety of disciplines.

"It is wonderful to see the recognition that the continued successes of our faculty and students are receiving," says Professor David Sholl, the John F. Brock III School Chair. "This ranking recognizes ChBE as a worldwide leader in core and emerging areas of the field."

Shanghai Ranking Consultancy has issued academic rankings annually since 2003. Georgia Tech's ChBE has risen four spots over 2016, when it was 10th.

The top 5 in chemical engineering are Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stanford University, Tianjin University, Tsinghua University, and Zhejiang University.
